What the results mean
- Raw net: your raw sale price after the selling fee.
- Graded net: your graded sale price after the selling fee and the submission costs you entered.
- Grading difference: graded net minus raw net. A negative result favors the raw alternative for these inputs.
- Break-even graded price: the sale price needed to match the raw net after submission costs.
The formulas
Raw net = raw price × (1 − selling fee ÷ 100).
Graded net = graded price × (1 − selling fee ÷ 100) − submission costs.
Break-even graded price = raw price + submission costs ÷ (1 − selling fee ÷ 100), when the fee is below 100%.
A worked comparison
A raw sale at 100 with a 10% selling fee leaves 90. A graded sale at 180, with the same fee and 35 in submission costs, leaves 127. The graded scenario is ahead by 37. The break-even graded price is approximately 138.89.
If the graded card instead sells for 120, its net is 73: 17 below the raw alternative. These figures illustrate the calculation and are not card-price estimates.
Choose inputs that match your card
Match the set, number, variant, language, and condition when researching completed sales. Include grading, two-way shipping, insurance, and supplies in submission costs. The calculator assumes the same percentage selling fee in both scenarios and does not include taxes, your original purchase price, time cost, or extra grade-dependent charges.
Repeat the calculation for a lower grade as well as your hoped-for result. No price input or app estimate guarantees a grading outcome.
